After learning a bit more on using Kino Movie editor (in lieu of Windows Movie Maker) - I've finally been able to post another video of Jude with more to come!

Jude had his 4 month check-up today. He is 24 inches long and 11 lbs and 8 ounces. He has moved up in percentile for height and moved down in weight, so the doctor's office is a little concerned. They would like to see him gaining faster. I'm always worried if he is eating enough, but he has plenty of wet and dirty diapers and acts content, so Mat says we shouldn't worry. I think maybe Jude doesn't complain enough.
The nurse practitioner advised us to start supplementing. I'm going to supplement with pumped milk first, and once I'm out of that, we will supplement with formula. She also said for us to go ahead and start solids. I was under the impression we didn't have to start until 6 months, but she said the latest research recommends 4 months.
Since Jude has been sleeping through the night and we don't give him a bottle at night, I haven't been pumping more than 2-3 times a day. I'm going to start pumping after every nursing like I did when Jude was born, so I can increase my supply and have more pumped milk to supplement with.
Jude had 2 1/2 ounces of milk at the dr.'s office this morning, and then I nursed him when we got home. After nursing I gave him the rest of the bottle (4 ounces) and he downed it. Before I gave him the bottle, he was acting content, so I think I'm right. Jude doesn't complain when he should.
Next week Mat and I will introduce him to rice cereal.
I'm pretty bummed about all of this. A) I'm upset that he is gaining so slowly. B) I feel inadequate that I can't provide him with everything he needs nutritionally. C) I'm frustrated Jude doesn't let us know when he isn't satisfied. D) This is stupid, but now that we are introducing solids and maybe formula, I can't just throw his diapers in the wash anymore. Breastfed poop is water soluble, but nothing else is. Now I'm going to need to rinse all his dirty diapers before washing.
Other than weight, he is doing fine. He is sociable, is head is well shaped, and he is meeting all his milestones. He just needs to chunk up. He got his 4 month vaccinations today, but they don't seem to effect him. He cried for less than a minute and has been a happy content baby the rest of the time.
He has a weight check next month, and then a regular check up in July.
