Jude is cutting his first two teeth! I can't feel them yet, but I can see them peeking out. I tried to get a picture, but the zoom on my lens can't focus in that close. Instead I have a smiley Jude.

Mat and I took Jude to the pediatrician this morning for a weight check. Jude did dynamite this month. He weighed 14 lbs and measured 25 1/4 inches long! That's about 2.5 lbs and 1.25 inches growth in one month. Instead of falling off the chart for weight, he is now around 10%, and he has jumped from 12% to 25% in height. Dr. Robinson was very happy with Jude's progress.
Here's a little Father's Day picture:

From our bath the other night (notice the cute belly we've been working so hard to develop) :

This is Jude's "tease roll". This is as far as he will roll from back to tummy:

Jude is about 2 lbs away from growing out of his current diapers, so Mat and I just ordered more. A dozen of his diapers are prefolds (what he has been wearing in the other picutres), but the other dozen are these beauties:
bumGenius one-size pocket diaper

Tada!

I have one diaper I got from my shower. Iit took a few pounds for the diaper to fit Jude well, but now it's my favorite diaper. Jude's a pretty heavy wetter, and these are super absorbent. I think they feel softer on his skin than the prefolds too. I also love that they are one-size and will last Jude till potty-training.
They have a pocket to insert a piece of thick microfiber cloth.

It was a slow weight gain week. Jude weighed 13 lbs 1.6 oz this morning. I'm not concerned though. He has gained well over the course the month. He has gained fast other weeks, so a slow week averages him out for the month, so he isn't gaining too fast or slow. I think our pediatrician will be pleased with Jude's growth.

I have new Jude stats! I normally weigh him on Wednesdays or Thursday, but it was easier to go to the lactation center today, so our stats are a little early. Stuff Jude Like a Turkey is going well.
May 13, Jude weighed 11 lbs 8 ounces. This was also his 4 month check up.
May 21, he was up to 12 lbs 2 ounces after a lot of supplementing.
May 28, he was up to 12 lbs 7 ounces. That week I cut back on the supplementing, trying to get a better idea of how much to feed him.
*June 2, Jude is up to 12 lbs 15.4 ounces. I'm pretty sure he will be 13 lbs by tonight or tomorrow!
This past week I moved Jude up to a medium flow nipple. He drinks formula better than breastmilk from it, but in general seems more content than with the slow nipple we had been using. He doesn't nurse as long, but he still nurses and definitely gets a good amount of milk. I find he does not need or want a bottle after his first meal. He won't ask for bottles after his other nursing sessions, but will take one if offered, so I give him 4 ounces of breastmilk or formula. Right now, if I wake up for a middle of the night pumping session, I find I can offer Jude breastmilk for half of his bottles each day.
I told Mat that if Jude was 13 lbs by the time we went to Ohio, then we would start solids while we are up there. Grandma Patty and Grandpa Joe will definitly get to see Jude try his first bites.
Mat has always talked about wanting to make Jude's baby food., so we've been checking out http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com. They have lots of information and recipes.
